Disability and Access Ambassador for the Countryside

In September 2022 I was appointed by the Cabinet Office as Disability and Access Ambassador for the Countryside. This is a three year appointment, working with the Minister for Disabilities, Tom Pursglove helping to inform policy making and drive forward change.

Disability and Access Ambassadors are senior business leaders. They encourage improvements in the accessibility and quality of services and facilities in their sector for disabled people.

The Disability and Access Ambassador scheme was expanded in 2021. As of January 2022, there are Ambassadors in 20 different sectors, from advertising to universities.

Tom Pursglove MP, Minister for Disabled People, Health and Work, said:

As the Minister for Disabled People, it is a great pleasure to be working with this impressive group of senior leaders. They are generous with their time and support for disabled people across society, and are helping us to improve all disabled people’s lives. The Disability and Access Ambassadors have the experience and insight throughout their sectors to be able to support the changes in accessibility we need to see across a wide range of private sector industries.
